Meet Pam

Pam Lanman Guzzone is a dedicated public servant and community advocate who has called Howard County home for more than 30 years.

Pam raised her family in District 13. All three of her children attended Howard County Public schools and are graduates of Bollman Bridge Elementary, Patuxent Valley Middle, and Hammond High School. During those years, Pam was actively involved in the school community serving as Vice President of Guilford Elementary PTA and later as President of Bollman Bridge Elementary PTA. After many years in Kings Contrivance, Pam is proud to call Owen Brown home.

As a community advocate, Pam has demonstrated a commitment to local nonprofits that serve our most vulnerable residents. Most recently, she served as the Board President of the Arc of Howard County, where she supported the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities. Over the years, she has worked with other community service providers including the Domestic Violence Center of Howard County, the Community Action Council, and OhanaHC. For more than a decade, she has remained a volunteer leadership coach with the Howard County Leadership Essentials program where she has supported the growth and development of rising public and private sector leaders.

Born and raised in Massachusetts, Pam is a product of the local public school system and attended Tufts University. After graduation with honors, Pam left her home state for Washington DC and worked in the non-profit sector before returning to graduate school at the University of Maryland School of Public Policy where she earned a Master’s in Public Management. She then began her career at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center.

Throughout her career, Pam has brought people together to solve complex issues. From streamlining NASA’s Small Business Innovation Research grant program, to establishing best practices to increase transparency and fairness in human resources, to revitalizing Goddard’s Employee Welfare Association – all of these initiatives strengthened her ability to bring people together, analyze situations, and build consensus around creative solutions.

Pam retired from NASA in 2019 and is now President of PLG Coaching and Consulting.
